Ross Powless - a Mohawk born on a reserve near Brantford, Ontario, he played intermediate and junior box lacrosse in Eastern Canada in the early 1940's, and Senior Box in Western Canada for the North Shore Indian Arrows in 1945 before returning to play in Eastern Canada and the Buffalo Bisons .

He played with Huntsville Senior B in 1949 and three seasons of Senior A for Peterborough in the 1950s.

Ross took part in four Mann Cup series in the 1950's, winning the Mike Kelley MVP medal as the outstanding player in the 1953 series with Peterborough.
