1985 Skip MacKay 367began his box lacrosse career in Vancouver, British Columbia's East End, winning numerous Provincial titles and taking part in the 1952 Minto Cup.

He played five seasons with Nanaimo, in addition to short stops with the New Westminster Salmonacs, P.N.E. Indians, Vancouver Burrards, and the Victoria Shamrocks. Before retirement, he earned 670 points on 361 goals and 309 assists.

In 1958 he won the Mike Kelly Mann Cup MVP Medal.
