"of Whitby, Ont., had a career at the junior and senior level that spanned 15 years. In 1961, he started his junior career in Whitby. In 1963, he joined the Oshawa Green Gaels as they were building their dynasty and went on to win a Minto Cup. He moved up to senior and played with the Brooklin Redmen from 1964 to 1967. He was usually among the top point getters. In 1968 he played pro with the Detroit team along with Jim Bishop and a number of the former Gaels. Elmer had an exceptional year and recorded 110 points, 80 of which were assists. That year he was named to the second All Star Team in the National Lacrosse Association Pro Series. In 1969, he returned to Brooklin and helped the Redmen win the Mann Cup defeating New Westminster. He was also honoured as leading scorer and won the Bucko MacDonald Trophy.
