Edward Powers was a star defenceman with Toronto, Ontario, in the National Lacrosse Union, the top pro league in Canada.

A player with great stamina, he was at his best when the going was tough.

After his playing days he became one of the top coaches in the country, leading many young teams to Canadian championships.
