Bill Calder was a member of the Vancouver Athletic Club, winners of the Minto Cup in 1910 and 1911.

He was the driving force behind the Junior teams in Vancouver East and was very active in the changeover from field to the box game. A promoter at heart, he held a keen interest in the game his entire life.

Bill was president of the Mann Cup championship Vancouver Burrards Club in 1945.
