Jim Nash coached and managed many minor teams in his home town of Port Credit, Ontario, before being appointed manager of the Senior Port Credit Sailors Club, who won the Mann Cup in 1960.

He was elected to the Ontario Lacrosse Association executive the next year and became president in 1965 - holding the position for three years. His tireless efforts brought top level lacrosse to such former lacrosse hot beds as Fergus, Sarnia, Orangeville, and Windsor, Ontario.
