Fred Hume is one of the few sportsmen to be inducted into both the Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Hockey Hall of Fame.

He was President of the New Westminster Salmonbellies for many years and was instrumental in building the Mann Cup team of 19'7. He was Mayor of New Westminster and later became the mayor of Vancouver.

A fine gentleman, he never lost his love for the game.
