in 1956, after playing for only four years, was picked up by the Nanaimo, British Columbia team and helped them win the Mann Cup in Toronto. Doug played all his senior lacrosse in his hometown of New Westminster. He was an outstanding defenceman who took on extra duties as a playing coach, but even more unusual was a playing general manager in 1968 and 1969.
