In 196' Ed was officially named "Mr. Lacrosse" by the Ontario Lacrosse Association for his determined and successful efforts in organizing teams and a league in Ontario. He served as president of both the Ontario and Canadian Lacrosse Associations. His most unique success came in 1968 when, through his efforts, the Canadian Government issued a lacrosse stamp.
