Everett Coates was the driving force behind the great Brampton, Ontario, teams from 1965 to 1981.

Ev was at various times: manager, board member, and chairman of the Excelsiors organization. Under his direction, Brampton went to the Mann Cup finals five times - in 1975, `76, `77, `80, and `81 and emerged victorious in 1980.

In addition, Ev became very active with the Canadian Lacrosse Association, and was national treasurer for ten years.
