1965 EJ Gene Dopp 58was an all-around athlete. Although lacrosse was his first love, he also starred in hockey, football, and rowing.

After a great career as a player, he held executive positions with both the Ontario Lacrosse Association and the Canadian Lacrosse Association and continued to be active his entire life. He was affectionately known as the father of modem day lacrosse in Eastern Canada.

Gene was also a coach and manager with the St. Simons club.
