Jerry Fitzgerald - was born on March 6, 1929 in St. Catharines, Ontario. He started his senior career at the age of 16, winning the rookie-of-the-year award with the Athletics in 1945. His senior career spanned twelve years and included playing on one Mann Cup team in St. Catharines in 1946, and four consecutive Mann Cup teams in Peterborough from 1951 to 1954. Fitz retired from lacrosse in 1957 to pursue a career in football, after coaching in Fergus and Hamilton in 1955 and 1956. |
