Rick Brown (Box Player 2009) - This Victoria lacrosse star played his Junior A lacrosse for the Victoria-Esquimalt Legion in the mid-1980’s. Brown was known for his play-making abilities as a talented point man. He led the Western Lacrosse Association as the Scoring Leader (1991, 1993 & 1994); Assist Leader (1991-1994); the WLA First All-Star team 5 years in a row (1990-1994); and captured the Commission Trophy as League MVP in 1990 and 1993. In 1997, Brown finished his career on top as a WLA champion while winning a Mann Cup ring. In 249 WLA regular season and playoff games, Brown scored 181 goals and 633 assists for 814 points. |
