Pat Smith of St. Catharines, broke into lacrosse with Hamilton in 1941 and, after a three-year absence with the armed services during the Second World War, he returned to star with St. Catharines Athletics for nine more years.
Time has erased some Ontario scoring statistics but existing records reveal 251 goals and 177 assists for 428 points in 214 senior games.
He played in two Mann Cups, winning once
