Perhaps no team at any level has dominated its sport as the Oshawa Green Gaels did form '63-'69 winning seven (7) consecutive Minto Cup Canadian Championships.

In this reign, six Green Gaels were selected as the outstanding player in the Minto Cup winning the McConaghey Memorial Trophy. They were; Merv Marshall ('63), Gaylord Powless ('64 & '67), and Jim Higgs ('65, '68, & '69). Many greats donned the Green Gaels jersey like John Davis, Chuck Li, Elmer Tran, Terry Rowland, Charlie Marlowe, Brian Thompson, Larry Lloyd, Tom Conlin, and the mentioned all-stars above.

One player, Don Stinson, played on all seven Minto Cup teams. With rules now in place for age groups and eligibility this record is unlikely ever to be achieved again. The late great Jim Bishop coached all seven teams. The Green Gaels ended regular seasons in first place every year from '63-'69 except one third place finish in '63. Bishop built a record of 220 wins, 20 losses, and 1 tie. That was a winning percentage of .914 over 245 games.

The Green Gaels definitely achieved a high level of achievement, brought recognition to the sport at the national level and dominated the sport from 1963-1969.
